General Digital Asset Market View:

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $460.7 million in inflows, while Ethereum ETFs saw a record-breaking $2.85 billion, the highest level ever, surpassing July’s peak. Overall, combined trading volume for BTC and ETH ETFs hit $40 billion, setting a new milestone for the market. This influx reflects growing optimism driven by the Trump administration’s pro-crypto policies, steady July CPI data supporting the case for Fed rate cuts in September, and a trend of corporations diversifying into crypto treasuries.

Macro:

The Jackson Hole symposium on August 21–23 will be the main event next week, with Powell confirmed for 10am ET on Friday. The Fed will also release its July FOMC minutes on Wednesday and central banks in Sweden and New Zealand will decide on rates. In economic data, the focus will be on the global flash PMIs for August due Thursday. Otherwise, inflation prints are due in the UK, Japan and Canada. Earnings from key US retailers will provide an update on consumer spending.
